Shogunai Tacos Team

The Masters behind Shogunai Tacos are Matt Duffy & Kamal Jemmari. Their number one goal is to offer the freshest and newest flavors to this Island paradise. The Promoter & The Master Chef combine to bring you the latest in Guerrilla Mobile Catering!

Matt Duffy

Has always loved to travel, sample the indigenous food, and engulf himself in many countries around the world.

He lived in Japan for almost 5 years where he promoted and DJed in some of the largest clubs in the country. He knows what it takes to cater to a variety of nationalities through giving people what they want. Matt is a people person to say the least, he has a story for every occasion!

He has been lucky enough to experience such countries as Sri Lanka, Australia, China, Malaysia, Korea, Spain, Ireland, Sweden, Finland, Germany, and that is just to name a few.

“I have always had a passion for cooking & eating, and through my travels I have picked up many secrets that I would love to share with the masses”.

Matt has lived on the Island for almost two years and would like nothing better than to serve the Island of Oahu and support local suppliers and businesses. “I feel this island has welcomed me with open arms and would love to give as much aloha back that is in my power”.

Chef Kamal Jemmari

Chef Kamal was born in Marrakesh, Morocco.  He credits his family and his hometown for his lifelong commitment to bold flavors and fine cuisine.  Spending his early years learning from his own mother and father’s kitchen and the legendary markets of Marrakesh (the original home of street food and selling delicious meals outdoors).

Kamal began his career in the restaurant industry in a fine dining Spanish restaurant in New Haven, Connecticut, working his way up from garde manche to line cook to pastry chef.  As the executive chef of a Cuban bistro (Soul de Cuba) in downtown Honolulu, Kamal mastered a Latin influenced menu adding his North African flair.
